Fripty course integration is an intensive Praxis review course using mixed-model learning method to help them prepare for their exam (not traditional “unit based” course pattern). The course works best over 1-2 semesters AFTER students have had their foundation graduate SLP coursework in your program.

When integrated into your program, our course includes:

-Live tutoring text messaging study group support to help students as they progress through the course.

-Twice monthly small group study session with a Fripty tutor (1hr, live on Zoom, typically a weekday evening to accommodate students in clinic).

~40hrs of video recorded lectures from PhD faculty and the Fripty team. Lectures cover Praxis-style practice questions, content, and testing tips. Most programs have students write quick/key notes for each lecture to track activity.

-26-mixed model quizzes (5-questions each) covering key Praxis content areas. NOTE: These quizzes are “learning tools” and do not follow the lectures and readings but instead are to help students think critically and see Praxis topics in different ways throughout their entire prep time (so they do not forget important information weeks and months down the road). Each question has a detailed rationale with reference to help students study. Students may attempt these quizzes multiple times. When you look at their grades, you can see time spent on each question, as well as missed questions for each student (not composite, however). You will be given grades for each student, and each attempt!

-Approximately 25-hours of Praxis-related reading topics in mixed-model format. Readings are from key texts and ASHA practice portal materials.

-Five, 10-question reading quizzes to ensure students are picking up key points on readings (1-attempt allowed, detailed rationales and references provided, of course). These quizzes are in the grade book like the above mixed-model reading quizzes.

-Final review study guide readings developed by the Fripty team to review prior to their final exam and/or Praxis.

-A full length 132-question Praxis simulation, best proctored by you, but flexible based upon your needs. This exam is held until a day/time/window you prefer for your students and if you can proctor it (in person or online) it is a great indication of their readiness to sit for the actual Praxis (91% correlation to Praxis passing scores)!
